We had a bit of a scare when we started up the engine after 4 years of sitting since the rebuild, we discovered it was burning oil severely. We had a few suggestions of what to do. After a good look, we found that when we had the 12G295 head rebuild, we didn't put on valve guide seals. After great effort removing the valve springs and keepers, installing the seals, and putting the springs and keepers back in, we were elated to find no oil burning at all! What a relief.
